Seoul’s popular outdoor fitness event, Workout in Seoul Plaza, returns on May 15 and will take place every Thursday evening until June 26. Now in its third year, the event turns Seoul Plaza into an open-air gym from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. It offers a variety of sports activities for people of all ages.
This year’s 10-week program features favorites like Zumba, circuit training, F45 workouts, rhythmic gymnastics, and cheer dance. The event aims to promote easy and accessible fitness for busy city residents, giving everyone a chance to exercise in the heart of Seoul.
Participants can enjoy four main areas: the main workout stage, the Workout King challenge zone, the Fitness Prescription Station for personalized coaching, and the New Sports Zone. The New Sports Zone introduces creative games such as LED disc games, tossball, and ballobal.
New to this year’s event are special activities including rock climbing led by a national park rescue expert and Taekwon-mu, a unique mix of martial arts and dance performed by the Taekwon Choreo team.
The opening session on May 15 will run from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., alongside the final day of the 2025 Seoul Health Show. From May 30 to June 1, the event will move temporarily to Ttukseom Hangang Park. This change coincides with the 2nd Slow and Steady Hangang Tri-Festival, which focuses on swimming, cycling, and running by the riverside.
