POTSDAM — Raise the Bar Fitness & Performance Training is inviting the community to take part in the annual “Murph” workout challenge. The event honors Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005.
This year, the challenge will be held on two days to accommodate more participants: Saturday, May 24, at 7 a.m., and Monday, May 26, 2025, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
The “Murph” workout is intense. It consists of a 1-mile run, followed by 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and ends with another 1-mile run.
Originally a favorite workout of Lt. Murphy, the “Murph” has become a Memorial Day tradition nationwide. It is done to honor fallen service members.
You do not need to be a member to join. People of all fitness levels are welcome.
