GLENVILLE, W.Va. (WDTV) – Glenville State University announced Thursday that construction has begun on the Morris Family Health and Fitness Complex, a new facility designed to support health, wellness, and education for both students and the surrounding community.
The complex will include a public fitness center and spaces dedicated to health sciences education. It will be located next to the university’s football stadium, with plans to open in the summer of 2026.
The project is made possible through generous donations from the Morris family and other supporters. University officials said the complex will not only enhance the atmosphere during Pioneer sports events but will also serve as the new home for GSU’s College of Health Sciences and related academic programs.
“This new facility marks an important step in our mission to improve the health and well-being of our campus and rural West Virginia,” said Dr. Mark Manchin, President of Glenville State University. “As someone deeply committed to improving rural healthcare, I am proud that Glenville State is leading the way in creating positive change. The Morris Family Health and Fitness Complex will be a symbol of wellness, education, and hope for our region.”
