After an impressive five-year gymnastics career at Louisiana State University, highlighted by a 2024 national championship, Livvy is moving beyond the gym. Known as one of the most-followed NCAA athletes on social media, her groundbreaking name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals have reshaped opportunities for women in sports. Now that her gymnastics journey has concluded, she’s focused on making a difference both for herself and future athletes.
“My current fitness goal is healing, but also returning to my previous form,” Livvy shared with Women’s Health during the first episode of Strong Like, a fitness series exploring both inner and outer strength. Despite competing in her final season with a fractured kneecap, she proudly says, “I’m getting there.”
Livvy is also celebrating a recent milestone: being named one of four cover stars for the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, alongside Salma Hayek Pinault, Jordan Chiles, and Lauren Chan. She continues to support The Livvy Fund at LSU, which helps student-athletes secure their own NIL deals.
When it comes to feeling strong and confident, Livvy credits gymnastics—and especially the strength training routine she began with her LSU coaches. “It’s been invaluable, not only for my gymnastics career but for everyday life. It empowers me and makes me feel confident,” she says. Aware of the long-standing stigma around women lifting weights, Livvy hasn’t let that stop her from hitting the gym three times a week. “Strength training truly transformed my body, my gymnastics, and my life.”
Now embracing her “healing girl era,” Livvy focuses on functional exercises that improve her balance and protect her from further injury. Her nutrition emphasizes plenty of protein and vegetables, helping her feel “better than ever.”
Her typical workout starts with a treadmill warm-up, followed by a quick core sequence, demonstrated in her Strong Like video:
Triceps V-up: 3 sets of 15 reps
Plank with hip tap: 1 minute
Hanging leg lift: 20 reps (or more!)
While nailing gymnastics skills still gives her a huge confidence boost, Livvy’s current mindset centers on inner strength. “It’s about how you feel, not about setting personal records,” she says. “When you feel strong, you just know it.”
