When we want technology to help improve our health and fitness, we usually reach for wearable devices like smartwatches, sports watches, or smart rings. These devices collect lots of data about our bodies. But they still struggle to understand what is happening in our daily lives.
For example, a Garmin watch won’t know you had a restless night because you were worried about a big work meeting. A Whoop tracker won’t notice that you are exercising less because you are preparing for a marathon.
Samsung’s new AI-powered smartphones, like the Galaxy S25 Edge, aim to change this. They can gather data from your apps and trackers, analyze it together, and provide smarter insights. In other words, your phone could soon become the brain behind your health and fitness goals. This could change how you manage your wellbeing.
What AI Can Do Today
AI is already making an impact in fitness. For instance, ChatGPT can quickly create weekly meal plans. Deepseek can generate beginner training schedules in seconds. But mobile AI is about to get much smarter. Soon, you might point your phone camera at gym equipment, and it will suggest exercises, sets, and reps for you.
When Samsung launched its S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra phones in January 2025, they aimed to bring us closer to this future. Samsung promised these phones would “set the standard” for AI phones. They offer a natural, context-aware experience.
One feature, Google’s “Circle to search,” lets you draw a ring around anything on the screen to search for it online. Another lets you use a single voice command to perform tasks across different apps—like finding the date of a festival and adding it to your calendar.
Annika Bizon, Samsung UK & Ireland’s Mobile Experience Director, said at the launch: “AI has evolved to be a companion. It understands what you need and when you need it. It lightens your load so you can focus on what matters. It’s becoming a pocket personal assistant that helps manage your to-do list.”
What’s New with the Galaxy S25 Edge
The Galaxy S25 Edge is a slimmer, tougher version of the S Series phones but with the same AI features.
In addition to “Circle to search,” it offers AI-powered workout plans, sleep advice, and mental wellness check-ins. By pressing the side button once, you can use Gemini AI to perform several tasks across apps with one command. For example, it can summarize your wearable health data and create nutrition plans based on your activity and diet.
The phone can even suggest a high-protein breakfast using a photo of your fridge contents. Point the camera at running shoes, and it can identify the brand, check if they fit your running style, and even suggest matching workout clothes.
Samsung is also developing more personalized health tools. Features like Now Brief and Now Bar use AI to pull data from other apps. They provide tailored insights and timely health reminders throughout the day.
A Sleek, Durable Design
The Galaxy S25 Edge is thinner, lighter, and more powerful than other S Series phones. Its titanium body is just 5.8 mm thick and weighs 163 grams—about the weight of a banana. It fits easily in running belts or gym shorts pockets.
The 6.7-inch screen uses Gorilla Ceramic 2 glass, which is tougher and more resistant to bumps and scratches. The display shines at 2,600 nits of brightness. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, supports all-day battery life, and can play video continuously for 24 hours.
Camera Features
The phone has a 200-megapixel wide-angle main camera with AI enhancements. It also includes a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens with autofocus for close-up shots. Samsung says night photos are 40% better than before.
It offers an AI tool to remove unwanted people or objects from photos, perfect for gym selfies. There is also an Audio Eraser feature to remove background noise from videos.
