Students from two local schools were covered in colourful powder this month as they took part in a lively celebration of fitness, fun, and community spirit.
On Sunday, May 18, Oakfield First School and Clewer Green CE First School teamed up to host a Colour Run. The event was organised jointly by the Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) of both schools.
About 500 runners of all ages gathered at Oakfield First School to start the event. The day began with a warm-up session led by Sweaty Bums Windsor.
Participants then ran a 1.5-kilometre route to Clewer Green CE First School. Along the way, runners passed through colour stations where they were showered with bright powders. They also faced obstacle challenges and dodged sprays from water pistols.
Windsor Girls’ School sports leaders helped support the event on the day.
After crossing the finish line, guests enjoyed refreshments from a licensed bar, an ice cream van, and a coffee truck.
Howard Seymour, the executive headteacher of both schools, said, “It was a truly joyful day that captured the spirit of our school communities. Seeing children and families from Oakfield and Clewer Green come together with such energy and positivity was heartwarming. Huge thanks to our PTA teams, who worked hard to make this event so memorable. We hope it becomes a regular part of our school calendars.”
The money raised from the Colour Run will be used to buy resources and fund enrichment activities for both schools.
