Tori Singleton, an elite athlete and qualified personal trainer from the Gold Coast, has been named the newest strength trainer for the global wellness platform Kic. Known online as @ttorisstory, Singleton has launched her first program, Own the Gym, now available on the Kic app. The program emphasizes mindset, intention, and confidence in strength training.
Kic supports a community of more than 2.5 million users worldwide. Singleton brings a fresh, empowering approach to fitness focused on sustainable progress. Her four-week gym challenge encourages women to overcome fear and confidently take their place in the weight room.
Laura Henshaw, CEO and co-founder of Kic, highlighted the need for Singleton’s program. “One in three women in our community feel too intimidated to start strength training. Over half feel overwhelmed by progressing it, and 72% struggle with motivation,” she said. “Tori’s approach perfectly aligns with our mission to help women build confidence through movement, not comparison.”
Singleton’s path to this role has been unique. With experience in gymnastics and acrobatics, she developed strong body control and form. However, personal challenges with body changes and burnout made her rethink how women approach strength training.
“I used to believe that more gym time meant better results,” Singleton said. “But when I focused on form and trained with intention, that’s when I saw true progress.”
This mindset forms the core of Own the Gym. The program prioritizes intentional workouts over high intensity. It is designed to suit all fitness levels—from beginners who are new to gym equipment, to advanced users aiming to improve their strength.
The program offers:
A sustainable training method that prevents burnout
Workouts using free weights, cable machines, barbells, and benches
Flexible training schedules ranging from 2 to 4 days per week
Foundational movements with gradual increases in difficulty
Balanced focus on both upper and lower body strength
Scalable levels for beginners, intermediates, and advanced athletes
Easy integration with Kic’s library of 900+ recipes and wellness resources
“This challenge encourages intentional training and suits gym-goers at any stage,” Singleton explained. “It helps users build strength steadily and feel more confident and stable in the gym.”
Kic was co-founded by Steph Claire Smith and Laura Henshaw. It offers over 1,000 workouts, 900 recipes, and more than 100 mindfulness classes. All content is created by expert trainers and health professionals, making it a comprehensive health and wellness platform.
