WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem Police have confirmed that no crime took place after a woman reported finding the door to her tanning room open at a local gym.
Officers responded to Planet Fitness on Peters Creek Parkway and began an investigation. Detectives reviewed surveillance footage from the gym. They found no signs of forced entry or anyone entering the tanning room.
Police said the evidence showed the incident did not qualify as a crime under North Carolina law.
The woman involved, Bethany Bloomer, told WFMY she felt shaken by the situation. She said she did not know how the door opened. She immediately asked Planet Fitness staff for help.
Bloomer later shared a video on social media about her experience. The video has since gained attention online.
