AEW star Brian Cage is making progress on his recovery after knee surgery. The wrestler, known as “The Machine,” shared an update with fans on his Instagram story. He posted a photo of his knee after the procedure and confirmed that the surgery was on his knee.
In follow-up posts, Cage expressed his excitement about returning to the gym. He shared that he had been cleared to start physical therapy and was already doing light exercises. “Got cleared to go to the gym, do some physical therapy, do a little bit of this, do a little bit of that. Awesome, awesome step forward,” Cage said. “Definitely [the] uplift that I needed today. Have a lot of friends coming in pretty soon here this week and weekend. I should be a little bit more mobile than I thought I would be. So, could be fun. Could be a good time.”
Cage suffered the injury during a match against Chris Masters on March 20th at an independent event. The injury led to changes in AEW’s plans, as Cage and Lance Archer were originally set to challenge The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW Tag Team Championships at Dynasty. Big Bill and Bryan Keith stepped in as replacements and lost the match at the pay-per-view.
At this time, the extent of Cage’s injury and how long he will be out of action remain unclear. On the April 9th episode of Dynamite, Don Callis mentioned that he was considering adding new members to his group as Cage and Mark Davis were both sidelined with injuries.
AEW Faces More Injury Setbacks
AEW also faced another injury issue during the April 9th Dynamite episode. PAC’s match against Swerve Strickland was cut short due to injury. PAC, who holds one-third of the Trios Championships, has left fans wondering if The Death Riders will remain champions or if the titles will be vacated. Shortly after the match, AEW announced a replacement for the injured PAC.
