Actress Jennifer Aniston, at 56, has shared her fitness tips that help her maintain her shape.
In an interview with Prevention, Aniston revealed that regular exercise is crucial for her. “If I don’t work out, I feel like crap,” she said. “If I get lazy or slack off, whether it’s my physical or mental routine, I notice a huge difference. Even 10 to 20 minutes of exercise makes all the difference.”
Aniston focuses on building muscle as she gets older. She emphasized the importance of strength training, saying, [I want] to feel great, to be strong, to be healthy. Our muscles decrease as we age, and strength training is really important.”
She also teamed up with Pvolve to create a “Sculpt Anywhere Bundle,” which offers exercises for people to do anywhere.
In a separate interview with TODAY, Aniston discussed her favorite workout method: “sculpt and burn.” She explained that her routine begins with a heart-opening pose followed by a staggered stance, which helps warm up her joints and get her body ready for the workout. “You can hit every part of your body pretty efficiently,” she said.
Aniston is a fan of low-weight, high-rep exercises, but she has also added heavier weights to her routine. She believes building muscles is important for bone and joint support, especially as people age.
In addition to strength training, Aniston’s fitness routine is varied. “I don’t think I’ve ever done the same workout twice, and that’s one of the many things I love,” she shared with Prevention. “It’s not repetitive, and you don’t get bored. It keeps me on my toes.” She works out three to five times a week.
Reflecting on her past, Aniston said, “I’ve abused my body a little bit. I’ve pushed it too far, for sure… We used to think ‘no pain, no gain,'” but now she takes a more balanced approach to her workouts.
