Aaron Donald Invites Young Rams Player to Try His ‘Old Man Retirement Workout’

by Lana Green

Aaron Donald may be several years away from his NFL playing days, but he remains one of the most intimidating figures in the gym.

On Instagram, Donald openly challenged anyone willing to face him in the weight room. After current Rams edge rusher Jared Verse called him out, Donald responded with a video inviting Verse to a bench press showdown.

“Somebody put the word out—I’m looking for you, Verse,” Donald said, already sweating from his workout. “Come to the house. I just want to talk. Play with some weights. Do a little cardio. You know, the old man retirement workout. I’ll put you through it. Let’s see what you can do. I just wanna talk.”

Verse initially challenged Donald during a recent appearance on the Adam Schefter Podcast. When asked if he had ever worked out with Donald, Verse confidently replied, “He don’t want that. He’s not ready for that.”

Now, it seems Donald is more than ready.

Donald is not someone you want to face in the gym, especially when pride is on the line.

This is the same man who invited a young fan, recently recovered from Hodgkin’s lymphoma, to work out with him. Donald pushed the fan so hard during their session that the young man ended up vomiting. It’s clear Donald takes lifting seriously and doesn’t mess around.

While Donald likely has many tips and tricks to share with Verse, earning those lessons won’t be easy.
