Belfast basketball player CJ Fulton has been invited to a pre-draft workout camp with the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves.
According to the BBC, Fulton will attend the camp to showcase his skills to Timberwolves coaches ahead of the NBA Draft, scheduled for June 25-26.
The Timberwolves recently missed the NBA Finals after losing the Western Conference finals series 4-1 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Fulton, 22, is the son of former Ireland international Adrian Fulton. He currently plays college basketball for the Charleston Cougars. He began his basketball journey at Malachy’s College and Belfast Star in Northern Ireland. In 2020, he moved to the United States to join Winchendon School in Boston.
If Fulton reaches the NBA, he will join the ranks of Irish players like Pat Burke and Susan Moran. Burke played for the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns, while Moran was part of the WNBA’s New York Liberty in 2002.
