Planet Fitness is allowing free access to all its Michigan gyms until June 8. This move comes in response to the unhealthy air quality forecast caused by recent Canadian wildfires.
The fitness chain says people can use the gyms without needing to buy a membership or join.
Keith Bertram, President of EPIC Fitness Group—a Planet Fitness franchise owner in Michigan—explained the reason behind the offer. “With the recent air quality alerts due to the Canadian wildfires, we want to give people who usually exercise outdoors a safe place to work out,” he said.
Michigan residents can visit any of the more than 80 Planet Fitness locations across the state. Some of the gyms include:
Bay City: 4101 Wilder Rd.
Burton: 4190 E Court St.
Fenton: 3150 Owen Rd.
Flint Township: 3333 S Linden Rd.
Grand Blanc: 11527 S Saginaw St.
Lapeer: 1935 W Genesee St.
