Two local organizations in The Dalles have opened donation centers to support residents affected by the recent fire. The Dalles Elks and Iron Fitness are leading community efforts to provide essential items to those in need.
The Dalles Elks Lodge has set up a donation site at 2620 West Second Street, next to the former Red’s Trading Post. The center offers donated clothing, shoes, bedding, and some household goods. While food supplies are limited, community members are encouraged to take what they need. The center is open Monday, July 15, and Tuesday, July 16, until 4 p.m., and then weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Iron Fitness has also opened its doors to assist fire victims. The gym, located at 3691 Klindt Drive, Suite 203, is offering clothing in all sizes, shoes, baby supplies, and other donated goods. Supplies are available today until 5:30 p.m. Anyone who has lost their home or belongings in the fire is welcome to stop by. For more information, residents can call (541) 980-1100.
Both organizations say the donations were made possible through the generosity of the local community. They encourage anyone in need to visit the centers and invite others to contribute if they are able.
“We’re coming together to help our neighbors rebuild — one piece at a time,” said a post from Iron Fitness.
