Jungle Cycle + Strength Studio has officially opened its doors in the Lower Tuck Development area of west Charlotte.
This new fitness space is the latest venture from local entrepreneur Liv Morgan, who also owns SkyCycle, a popular cycling studio in Dilworth.
At Jungle, visitors can choose between two types of classes: Power Synthesis and Cycling. Both workouts are rhythm-based and take place in a low-light room with energetic music to keep participants motivated.
Power Synthesis is a heated mat workout that blends Pilates movements with strength exercises. The class accommodates about 20 people, and all mats and equipment are provided.
The cycling classes can hold up to 32 riders. These sessions often feature themed playlists, such as “Rihanna vs. Rufus” or hits from Tate McRae and Ellie Goulding, adding a fun, dynamic vibe to the workout.
Membership options include unlimited access to both strength and cycling classes for $279 per month. Unlimited strength-only memberships are priced at $189 monthly. For cycling enthusiasts, a limited founding rate membership is available at $169 per month. First-time visitors can purchase a 3-class pack for $50.
The studio is located at 800 Gesco Street.
Jungle Cycle + Strength Studio taps into current fitness trends gaining popularity in Charlotte. Low-impact workouts like mat and reformer Pilates have seen a rise in demand, with several new studios opening recently.
Hybrid fitness centers that offer multiple types of workouts under one roof are also on the rise. For example, The Club in South End combines strength and cycling classes in a unique fitness-meets-coworking environment.
Another growing trend is combining different workouts into a single session. The fitness franchise SPENGA, with a South End location, exemplifies this by offering hour-long classes split into 20 minutes each of cycling, strength training, and yoga.
Having experienced Liv Morgan’s Power Synthesis and cycling classes myself, I can say they are challenging in the best way. The playlists truly add energy and keep the classes engaging.
Lower Tuck is a 400,000-square-foot adaptive reuse district in west Charlotte. It covers eight buildings along Jay Street, Gesco Street, and Tuckaseegee Road. The developer behind the project is Third and Urban.
