Rosie O’Donnell is focusing on her health as she starts a new chapter living abroad.
The 63-year-old comedian recently posted a photo of herself performing standup comedy. This comes more than two years after she began losing weight with the help of Mounjaro, a medication used to treat Type 2 diabetes.
“I can’t believe this is me now,” Rosie wrote on Instagram on May 23. She included the hashtags #mounjaro, #weightloss, and #bodydismorphia.
Rosie first opened up about her health journey in March, two months after moving to Ireland with her youngest child, Clay, who is 12 years old.
“I’ve lost more weight here. I am on Mounjaro for my diabetes, and one of the side effects is weight loss,” she said in a TikTok video posted on March 20. Rosie is also the mother of Parker, 30, Chelsea, 27, Blake, 25, and Vivienne, 22.
She shared that she recently went shopping in Dublin to buy clothes that fit better. “I’ve always had weight issues. Now, I wear a size large instead of XL or 2XL, and I find that shocking,” she explained.
Another surprising change for Rosie was being able to wear pants without an elastic waistband again after a long time. “I’ve been wearing elastic-waist pants for years,” she said. “I didn’t check the size at first. When they told me what it would be in American sizes, I didn’t believe it.”
Rosie began using Mounjaro in late 2022. Months later, she shared before-and-after photos showing her transformation. “One year on Mounjaro. Healthy life,” she wrote on Instagram in February 2024. She posted a photo in a red shirt alongside one from a year earlier in a blue shirt.
Besides medication, Rosie has also been making healthier eating choices. She explained that since moving to Ireland, she no longer has a chef like she did when living in Los Angeles for over two years.
Rosie recently posted a TikTok video showing her first “Tiffany plate,” a healthy meal trend on social media. The plate included grape tomatoes, blackberries, carrots, green beans, cucumbers, olives, hard-boiled eggs, walnuts, reduced-fat Babybel cheese, chicken breast, fried mushrooms, and sausages.
She said, “It’s on TikTok. Everyone makes their own healthy food plate and eats it during the day.” Rosie also showed her condiments: hummus, cottage cheese, and spicy salsa.
“My influencer era,” she captioned the video. “Look out world.”
