Paulina Gretzky, daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, is once again drawing attention with her stylish golf course look. However, one part of her outfit has stirred controversy among sports fans.
Paulina recently posted a photo of herself on the golf course. She was also working out and shared the image on her ShopLTK page as well as her Instagram story. Her caption read, “Another day on the course! Went with a red and black look and these sneakers tie it all together.” The outfit looked fashionable, mainly featuring black and red colors.
But sports fans noticed one detail: the hat Paulina wore. It was a Florida Panthers cap, an NHL team her father never played for. Wayne Gretzky’s career included the Indianapolis Racers, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers—but not the Panthers.
For those unfamiliar, the Florida Panthers are a professional hockey team that Paulina has openly supported. In May 2025, she posted several photos showing her and her husband Dustin Johnson cheering for the Panthers. Her caption simply read, “panthers club.”
Despite this, the father-daughter relationship remains strong. The controversy is tied to recent games where the Panthers and Wayne’s former team, the Edmonton Oilers, faced off. The Panthers won Game 2 in overtime with a score of 5-4.
Paulina posted her photo around the same time as the game. Meanwhile, Wayne made a comment about the Panthers, suggesting that Florida’s lack of state income tax might give its teams an advantage in attracting players, as reported by The Times of India via MSN.
Sports rivalries can be intense, but there is no sign of any tension between Paulina and Wayne. Fans continue to admire Paulina’s fashion sense and support for her favorite teams.
