KURNOOL: The Srisailam temple authorities have announced a special yoga programme on May 31. The event will take place at Gangadhara Mandapam within the temple grounds. This programme is part of the Yoga Andhra initiative and is one of four planned events across the Nandyal district.
Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao said on Monday that the state government is giving high priority to promoting yoga. He added that all activities under the Yoga Andhra initiative are being carried out in an organized way.
In addition to the May 31 event, International Yoga Day will also be celebrated at Gangadhara Mandapam on June 21. To prepare for both events, the temple authorities started a yoga training programme on May 24. This training is for temple staff and local residents. The sessions are scheduled daily from 7 to 8 am and will run until June 20.
Srinivasa Rao said yoga experts will lead the sessions. They will teach participants about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga.
