Pre-workout Nutrition: Timing is Key

In the video, Channa explains the science of pre-workout meals in simple terms. He focuses on digestion and energy availability.

“I will tell you how to plan your meal before and after a workout. Before a workout, you need energy, and it depends on how much time you have,” he said in Hindi. “If you have only half an hour, you need something that digests quickly. Fruits are the best option. They digest easily. Even if you have just half an hour, fruits will provide energy,” he added.

However, if you eat earlier—about one to one and a half hours before working out—Channa suggests a more balanced meal. “Then you can eat both protein and carbohydrates,” he advised.

This combination gives your body a steady energy supply during your workout and helps prevent muscle fatigue.

Post-workout Meals: Focus on Recovery

Channa emphasizes that what you eat after exercise is just as important. The goal is to replenish energy and repair muscles.

“After a workout, you should have a combination of protein, carbohydrates, and fiber,” he explained. “Fiber aids digestion, carbohydrates restore energy, and protein supports muscle recovery.”

He warned against a common mistake—eating only protein without carbohydrates. “If you eat only protein and no carbs, your body will use protein for energy, leaving none for muscle repair. Always follow scientific guidance when planning meals,” Channa advised.

Strategic Nutrition for Better Fitness Results

Channa’s advice highlights an often-overlooked aspect of fitness: the importance of strategic nutrition. Whether your goal is weight loss, muscle gain, or overall health, knowing how to fuel your body correctly can make a major difference. His tips focus on meal timing, balance, and adapting your diet to your workout routine.
