Lori Loughlin is living by the phrase “health is wealth” as she makes a strong comeback in Hollywood. Now in her 60s, the actress is focusing on a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She is determined to leave the college admission scandal behind and prioritize self-improvement.
Recently, Loughlin reunited with her former castmates from the 1990s hit show Full House to celebrate one of her favorite scenes. Friends say she has overhauled her fitness routine in the past year. She is motivated to push her physical limits and stay strong.
An insider revealed that while Lori has always kept active, her dedication has grown deeper. She now lifts heavier weights with the help of a personal trainer. Her goal is to build lean muscle safely and effectively.
Those close to her confirm that she focuses mainly on exercises that improve strength and flexibility. Lori follows a gym routine five days a week. She believes this consistency has also improved her skin.
In addition to strength training, Loughlin practices yoga daily. She prefers hot yoga, which helps with detoxification. For cardio, she enjoys running on the beach and taking aerobic dance classes like Zumba.
According to sources quoted by In Touch, Lori treats fitness almost like a part-time job. Her hard work shows — she looks much younger than her age, appearing at least twenty years younger.
Last week, PEOPLE reported that Loughlin reunited with John Stamos on June 5 for a live taping of the podcast How Rude, Tanneritos! in Los Angeles. The reunion celebrated their iconic roles from Full House.
During the event, Stamos (who played Jesse) and Loughlin (who played Becky) fondly recalled their on-screen wedding from season 4, which first aired in 1991. The podcast, hosted by fellow cast members Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin, featured surprise guests including the series creator Jeff Franklin and co-stars Scott Weinger and Marla Sokoloff.
Loughlin shared personal stories about her character’s wedding headdress. She revealed that it originally belonged to her aunt. Despite looking bulky, she said it was not heavy to wear.
The actress also said she wore her own wedding dress from her marriage to Mossimo Giannulli for the episode. This idea was suggested by the show’s costume designer, Gina.
Lori Loughlin’s Return to the Spotlight in 2023
Loughlin’s renewed focus comes two years after she resumed her public life following her prison sentence linked to the 2019 college admissions scandal.
As reported by The Blast, she returned to the public eye on February 10, 2023, at the 30th annual Movieguide Awards. Having served a two-month jail term that ended in December 2020, it was her first awards show in over two years. She wore a striking pink two-piece outfit with flared pants, paired with pink heels and a box purse. Her hair was styled in a high bun with loose strands framing her face.
At the event, Lori reunited with longtime friend and Full House co-star Candace Cameron Bure. She also shared a warm moment with a familiar photographer on the red carpet before entering the Dolby Theatre for the ceremony.
The College Admission Scandal and Its Aftermath
In 2019, Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were charged in a college admissions bribery case. They were accused of paying half a million dollars to admissions consultant Rick Singer to fraudulently list their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose, as recruits for the University of Southern California’s rowing team. Neither daughter had experience in the sport.
As a result, Loughlin was sentenced to two months in jail, fined $150,000, and ordered to complete 150 hours of community service. Her husband received a harsher sentence of five months in prison, a $250,000 fine, and 250 hours of community service. Giannulli began his prison term in November 2020 and was placed under house arrest in April 2021 for the final month.
A Life Changed and a New Beginning
Loughlin’s time behind bars profoundly affected her. According to The Blast in January, she engaged in deep self-reflection after her release. Though the experience was difficult, she has grown from it and now sees it as a meaningful lesson.
She regrets the scandal and wishes she could change the past. However, she is ready to move forward and leave that chapter behind.
At 60 years old, Lori views her second chance as an opportunity to remind the public of her talent. She expressed excitement about playing a new role as a police officer in the drama On Call. This role symbolizes a fresh start and a new phase in her acting career.
