Teenagers in Philadelphia can use Planet Fitness gyms for free this summer.
The City of Philadelphia and the School District have teamed up with local Planet Fitness locations to offer the High School Summer Pass program. This program gives teens free gym access during the summer months.
Starting June 1 and running through August 31, teens aged 14 to 19 can work out at any participating Planet Fitness gym at no cost.
Mayor Cherelle Parker said, “I am committed to ensuring our young people have the opportunities and resources they need to thrive year-round. The Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass program is about more than fitness. It’s about creating safe spaces where our teens can stay active, reduce stress, and build lifelong healthy habits.”
Now in its fifth year, the program aims to keep teens healthy, active, and safe over the summer break.
Planet Fitness has many locations across Philadelphia. Some of these include: 1835 Market Street, 1128 Chestnut Street, 510 N. Broad Street, 1851 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd., 2350 W. Oregon Ave., 2641 E. York Street, 1575 N. 52nd Street, and 2800 Fox Street. A full list of participating gyms is available online.
Teens must work out at the gym where they signed up. They cannot use other locations. Teens under 18 need parental permission to join.
Franz Kindler, Chief of Staff at National Fitness Partners, said, “Fitness is about more than strength; it’s about confidence, wellness, and opportunity. We are excited to bring this program to Philadelphia, a city that shares our dedication to youth development and wellness.”
