CHICAGO — A Chicago man was arrested last week for allegedly selling $400,000 worth of stolen fitness equipment and other items.
Isadore House, 57, faces a Class 1 felony theft charge after being taken into custody on Friday.
The investigation began in April when the Cook County Sheriff’s Office was notified about fitness equipment stolen in a cargo theft.
Authorities say House was selling the stolen equipment on Facebook Marketplace.
Undercover officers bought several pieces of fitness equipment from him over several weeks. These transactions took place at a storefront on West 87th Street and a storage unit on West 85th Street in Chicago.
Police executed a search warrant at these locations and recovered about $400,000 worth of stolen fitness equipment and other goods.
House was arrested Friday but has since been released while awaiting his next court appearance.
