Julie Goodwin has revealed even more weight loss since her dramatic transformation nearly a decade ago, when she dropped 20 kilograms unexpectedly.
The 54-year-old shared a selfie on Instagram following her appearance on Sunrise, surprising fans with how slim she looked. Julie showed off her natural grey hair and a fresh look, highlighting the changes since she won MasterChef in 2009.
In the photo, she encouraged followers to try her chicken pie with potato bake topping. Despite her new appearance, she still wore her signature wide-frame glasses and a black-and-white striped shirt.
Back in 2016, Julie explained that her weight loss was not the result of dieting. She told Women’s Weekly that it was not due to any quick or strict diet plan.
“I am running a business and busy all the time,” she said. “Sometimes I forget to eat, which is not healthy.”
Julie returned to MasterChef in 2012 for the All Stars series. She also appeared on Ten’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015.
More recently, she competed on the 2024 season of Channel Seven’s Dancing with the Stars. During the show, judges called her “a sexy vixen,” “a sassy minx,” and even a “dominatrix.”
In an interview with Daily Mail Australia, Julie shared her thoughts on the surprising response to her makeover for the dance show.
“That was unexpected and unfamiliar,” she laughed. “My family thought it was hilarious. I’m usually cooking and looking after my granddaughter, not pushing a good-looking man around the floor.”
She added, “I was thrilled with the judges’ feedback. It felt great to hear I’d done the dance well.”
Julie is making headlines again amid rumors she might replace Poh Ling Yeow as a judge on MasterChef. Poh is reportedly planning to leave the show at the end of this season.
According to reports from New Idea, Julie is being considered as a possible new judge. A source said, “Julie would be a fantastic judge. Fans love her. While no one wants to see Poh leave, everyone would welcome Julie back with open arms.”
Julie won the first season of MasterChef in 2009, beating Poh. She returned to the show in 2022 and made a surprise guest judge appearance in 2023.
Insiders say she enjoyed being on the judging panel and could be ready to return permanently.
