Genesis Health and Fitness has introduced a new compact club format designed to make franchise ownership more accessible. The Australian gym chain aims to expand its national presence by offering a smaller 750-square-meter model that lowers startup costs for new operators.
The new format keeps core services such as Reformer Pilates, Coaching Zone group training, and cardio and functional training areas. According to the company, these features ensure that members still enjoy a premium experience despite the reduced footprint.
“Our communities are different, and so are our franchisees,” said Ian Jensen-Muir, CEO of Genesis Health and Fitness. “This smaller model offers a lower-cost entry point for passionate operators while maintaining high-quality service. It’s our next step in growing accessibility without compromising on standards.”
Genesis Health and Fitness currently operates more than 40 clubs and serves over 75,000 members across Australia. The new compact franchise model requires an initial investment of $350,000, plus the cost of equipment.
