Olivia Vinson, a 34-year-old Australian fitness enthusiast, shattered the Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups completed by a woman in 24 hours. She performed an astounding 7,079 pull-ups, nearly doubling the previous record.
The old record, set by Paula Gorlo of Poland in 2021, stood at 4,081 pull-ups. Olivia’s achievement on March 29-30 of this year was remarkable, averaging about five pull-ups every minute for a full day.
Olivia’s journey began as a surprising suggestion from her husband and coach. At first, she laughed at the idea of attempting such a challenge. “I thought there was no way,” she told Guinness World Records. But after researching the current record and doing some calculations, she began to believe it might be possible.
She trained for three months before her first attempt in September of last year. Unfortunately, after about a year into training, Olivia tore a bicep tendon, which forced her to stop and cancel the challenge. After several months of recovery, she returned stronger and went on to break the record.
Reflecting on her achievement, Olivia said, “I reached a number I never thought I could achieve. This pushes me to question what else I might be capable of.”
Her incredible feat has inspired many, and it seems likely that Olivia Vinson’s name will appear in the Guinness World Records again in the future.
