Tony Doherty, a well-known figure in the Australian fitness industry, will be visiting the Sunshine Coast on Friday, May 3, for a special speaking event. Doherty, who has mentored numerous professional athletes and organized major bodybuilding events alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, has become a key advocate for fitness in Australia.
Doherty’s journey to success began in 1994 when he moved from Bendigo to Melbourne with a truckload of broken gym equipment and $250,000 in debt. Over the years, he has built a nationwide chain of Doherty’s Gyms and remains a powerful voice for the fitness community. He also stood up to pandemic restrictions that impacted gyms in Victoria during Covid-19.
On May 3, Tony will join his former protege, Corey McKernan, at The Reset Sanctuary in Maroochydore for an insightful speaking session. McKernan, the founder of the soon-to-open fitness sanctuary, credits Doherty for playing a significant role in shaping both his life and his football career. McKernan, who won two AFL grand finals and was named MVP in 1996, believes Tony’s influence was crucial in his success.
“I’m thrilled to bring Tony to the Coast to share his inspiring journey in the fitness industry,” McKernan said. “It will also give him the chance to see what we’re building at The Reset Sanctuary. We have limited tickets available for the public, and I’m confident everyone will benefit from Tony’s wisdom. He’s not only a mentor to elite athletes but also a remarkable speaker who’s been through the grind for decades.”
The event will offer guests a chance to hear firsthand the lessons Tony has learned about building health, wealth, and resilience. McKernan emphasized that these lessons are valuable to anyone, whether they are pursuing peak performance, peace of mind, or personal purpose. “Tony delivers messages like no one else,” McKernan added.
The speaking event will take place at The Reset Sanctuary, located at 90 Aerodrome Road, Maroochydore, from 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Tickets are priced at $50 per person and include drinks and light refreshments.
