Rosie O’Donnell is stepping into a new chapter of her life, both personally and professionally, with a significant body transformation playing a key role. The 63-year-old comedian recently made headlines after relocating to Ireland and sharing her experiences with her family, including their routines and challenges.
Now, O’Donnell is opening up about another part of her life—her weight-loss journey. She posted a photo on social media showcasing her dramatic transformation, attributing the change to the medication Mounjaro.
“I can’t believe this is me now,” she wrote, accompanying the post with hashtags like #Mounjaro and #BodyDismorphia. She expressed her surprise at how different she looks in the recent photo, reflecting on how she felt before beginning the weight-loss treatment.
Mounjaro, a medication primarily used to treat Type 2 diabetes, has become popular for its side effect of promoting weight loss. O’Donnell’s transformation comes after she started using the medication as part of her broader health journey, which also includes lifestyle changes since moving to Ireland in early 2025.
In a TikTok video from March 2025, O’Donnell discussed how her life has changed since relocating with her 12-year-old son, Clay. “It’s also because I had a chef in Los Angeles for over two years, and now it’s just me cooking for Clay and me,” she explained. “I’ve lost more weight here, and I’m on Mounjaro for my diabetes, which has weight loss as one of its side effects.”
In the same video, she revealed the emotional experience of shopping for clothes in Dublin after losing weight. “I’ve always had a weight issue, and now that I’m a size large instead of an XL or 2XL, I find it shocking,” she said. She also shared a lighthearted moment about how it felt to wear pants without an elastic waistband for the first time in years.
O’Donnell’s post has garnered attention from both fans and celebrities. Comedian Kathy Griffin commented, “I LOVE THAT YOU’RE DOING STAND UP,” while one fan added, “Ireland looks good on you, Rosie!”
