Santa Clarita Planet Fitness has recently upgraded its equipment by adding three new plate-loaded machines. These machines are typically found in elite lifting gyms but are now available to everyone, making strength training accessible to all fitness levels.
The gym is located at 19150 Soledad Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91351.
The new equipment, installed in March, includes a plate-loaded hack squat, a plate-loaded supine bench press, and a plate-loaded seated calf raise. These machines target major muscle groups in the upper body, lower body, and core. They are designed to improve strength, power, mobility, and functional fitness.
Strength training offers many benefits. It can increase strength, balance, and flexibility. It can also reduce the risk of injuries. Studies show strength training lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease by 40 to 70 percent.
Arriana Braggs, General Manager of Santa Clarita Planet Fitness, said, “We are always working to meet our members’ fitness goals. Adding this new plate-loaded equipment was an easy decision. These machines help improve posture, reduce back pain, and lower the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes and osteoporosis. They are great for people of all ages and fitness levels.”
The gym has shifted its focus from mainly cardio equipment to a more balanced mix of cardio and strength machines. Two years ago, the gym had about 100 pieces of cardio equipment. Today, that number has dropped to around 70. This change reflects a growing interest in strength training among gym-goers.
By offering more strength training options, Planet Fitness aims to attract a wider audience. The gym wants to provide ways for members to build muscle while still enjoying the benefits of their membership. These benefits include free training sessions and Black Card Spa amenities like red light therapy, HydroMassage beds, and massage chairs.
Planet Fitness supports members as they learn to use new equipment. Their free app offers visual demonstrations and written tips for each machine. QR codes on the equipment guide users on proper form. The gym also offers free training sessions and maintains a judgment-free environment where everyone feels welcome.
